Three To Watch Tonight In The National League

By Sam Elliott

There’s a Tuesday night feast of football on the agenda this evening - picking out three of the ones to watch wasn’t easy!

Action at both ends of the table, play-off tussles and of course big games for the teams at the top mean we are in for another great night of football.

We have whittled it down and think these are the games to keep your eyes on the closest.

What do you think? Well take it to social media - @TheNationalLge and join the debate on twitter

Dagenham & Redbridge vs Dover

Will they? Can they? Well, we may know more about Dover Athletic’s title chances by 10pm tonight.

After claiming a point at Leyton Orient on Saturday, the leaders return to East London looking for all three this evening. Dagenham got back to scoring form up the road, a 3-2 home win over Guiseley finally saw goals arrive at the weekend. Though it’s not just a battle of the two teams either.

They won’t thank us for saying this but Daggers boss John Still and Dover’s Chris Kinnear share 130 years of experience between them!

We’ll be there tonight covering every kick across our social media channels to see which wily fox comes out on top.

Leyton Orient v Chester

O’s fans saw the green shoots of recovery appear on Saturday when they held leaders Dover. Three points tonight could empower their season.

But a first win in 12 is a must you would think - especially with a visit from a club just below them in the table. Marcus Bignot knows how to pull off big results, and they travel to London for the second time in four days knowing how vital it is they take don’t return to Cheshire empty handed.

Just one defeat in four on the road points at big progress for Chester, but you get the feeling the winner of this one will be injecting much-needed life in their campaigns.

We’ll be there to see it all unfold so follow the action on twitter and Instagram for behind-the-scenes access.

Gateshead v Barrow

Sometimes managerial appointments don’t work. Then again, sometimes they do.

Ady Pennock’s Barrow tenure has seen him double the club’s win total inside three games and secure victory away from home for the first time since April.

Steve Watson? Well he seems to have given Gateshead the mother of all kick starts! The former defender is doing what defenders do best - not let in goals.

Five clean sheets in a row and four wins from those fixtures means the new boss has a dream start to his first solo role. The question is which of these form teams will be the happier this evening?
