Thorpe Applauds Way Chester Scrapped To Victory

Assistant Manager Ross Thorpe says the 1-0 win against Solihull Moors was down to way the side battled.

A Ross Hannah goal proved to be the difference in this match as the Blues moved to within three points of moving out the relegation places, writes Tom Feaheny.

"The win is massive for us, we've worked hard, kept patient, we had that big chance and we wanted it to fall to Ross Hannah, a player of that quality," Thorpe told the club's website.

"This time of the year, each game will be a massive scrap, you have to stay in the matches, we had to do the ugly stuff better than them, I couldn't be prouder of them.

"Solihull came with a game plan, we nullified it quickly and that gives us confidence as well, we will enjoy this victory."

Despite tricky weather conditions before the game, many people helped ensured the match was on and Thorpe praised them.

"From the ground staff to the volunteers, who worked so hard to get the game on, that was for them"
