This Terra-ble Start Must Spark Us Says Weymouth Boss

Mark Molesley says part of Weymouth’s problem so far this season seems to be sides scoring wordies against them.

It’s five games five defeats in the Vanarama National League South for the Terras and their manager accepts that things need to change - and quickly.

Losses to Tonbridge Angels, Hemel Hempstead, Chippenham, Boreham Wood and on Monday at home to Eastbourne leaves the club looking up at the rest.

Molesley could do without some scorchers hitting his team’s net like in the past few games but told fans he says at soon as luck changes, so will results.

“It seems like déjà vu at the moment,” he said. “It seems like after every game I’m talking about a goal of the season contender going in against us. We only have to put half a foot wrong and it flies in the back of the next.

“That’s the bit where we’re falling short a little. We’re missing that thunder bolt strike, we need someone to step up and be our hero.

“It’s tough times at the moment, not a lot is going our way. But we need to take action, we need to have a bit more intent with what we do to put the finishing touches to all our hard work. We could also do without these injuries we’re picking up.

“We can only control the things we can control and get us through this sticky period. We are making this tough for ourselves but the pressure is starting to mount.”

Things won’t get easier any time soon. It’s a trip to leaders Slough Town next and they’ve not lost at home for 25 matches.

“We will get there, we know we need to get there sooner rather than later but we need to use the adversity we’re going through at the moment to make us stronger and tougher,” he said.
