Things Looking Good For Next Year At Chesterfield

Chesterfield manager John Sheridan thinks their late season form bodes well for next season.

The Spireites beat Maidstone United 4-1 on Saturday as they continue to move up the table.

It was their fourth win in the last five matches and fans are thrilled with progress since the new boss arrived.

He came too late to turn a recovery into a play-off push but things are moving in the right direction.

“It was comfortable in the end but full credit to Maidstone I think they gave a good account of themselves,” Sheridan told the club’s website.

“They came and gave us a right game. I felt at 1-1 we were very lucky to find ourselves still in the game.

“They had good chances and caused lots of problems.

“We’ve ended up winning the game comfortably but performance wise I think we’ve allowed them too many opportunities.

“I’m very pleased to see us score goals and to keep winning at home.”
