If they extend their 13 point advantage and Scunthorpe United don’t defeat improving King’s Lynn Town, it’s all over bar the shouting.

Chorley still have a mathematical chance but their focus is on a top three finish and they face Darlington, who know they’re only one spot above the drop-zone despite their season-saving form.

Gloucester City will be as good as down if they don’t beat Brackley Town, while Banbury know anything except a home win over Hereford spells big trouble. Rushall Olympic will keep their fight going if they defeat Alfreton Town.

South Shields suddenly have a play-off chance but need to keep winning, they meet Spennymoor Town, while Curzon Ashton don’t want to miss the top seven boat but have their work cut out for them at Blyth Spartans.

Yeovil Town will need to wait a little longer - and want to avoid crawling over the finishing line.

The long-term leaders have won only one of their last six matches but no side has had the consistency to really make things uneasy for Mark Cooper’s men.

But things could really get interesting if they slip up at third-place Braintree Town and Chelmsford City - the one team who could realistically stop them now - win against Taunton Town.

Alan Dowson returns to Dartford with new club Hemel Hempstead Town and the strugglers hope to mark a very sad week with a win following the death of co-chairman Dave Skinner.

Eastbourne Borough have also had a tough few days after an ambulance was called for defender Alex Finney at Truro City in midweek. The game was abandoned and on Saturday they face Slough Town.

Havant & Waterlooville really must win at Weymouth if they aren’t to be down before April and Torquay United find themselves just three points above the drop zone - but a home win against Hampton & RB would totally change the mood.
