There’s No Panic For Preece Who Says Patience Is Key

Andy Preece has told Chorley fans to not read anything into the club’s quiet summer so far.

The National League North Magpies have yet to bring any new players in.

Last week they were handed a blow with the news that talented attacker Justin Johnson had completed a move to join Northern Premier League side Macclesfield.

The manager says they will once again be “relentless” when it comes to finding their new players.

But he says good things will come to those who wait.

“Sometimes you have to be a little patient,” he said. “We can’t reveal too much about what we are doing as it might alert other clubs.

“Clearly at this time of the year fans are really keen to know what’s going on, we understand that and we’re working hard.

“We do really well with our recruitment. We just need to have that bit of patience, things will start to come out soon. That’s the key word.”

Preece’s side again made the play-offs last season and hope to have another push for promotion next time around.

“We are relentless in our recruitment and the way we go about it,” he told the club’s YouTube channel in an early summer update.

“There are exiting times ahead on and off the pitch, there’s so much going on.”
