The Macc boss made four changes for the trip to Evo-Stik premier side Stourbridge after beating Ebbsfleet United to stay top of the Vanarama National League.
Three of Askey's alterations found the net, Scott Burgess, Koby Arthur and Tyrone Marsh, with Danny Whitehead and Elliot Durrell also getting on the score sheet.
Macclesfield were drawn away at old National League rivals Forest Green Rovers, of League Two, last night.
"Every goal really had quality," said Askey. "Scott's (Burgess) goal is, obviously, a terrific strike but I think every goal we scored was really well taken.
"It started with Danny Whitehead, who, with the early goal, really gave everyone confidence. Getting early goals is something we've been working really hard on and every player has been working hard to do it in games. It really came to fruition and that's really pleasing because it keeps the run going.
"It's always a concerning task when you’re winning and think about changing the team, but, I felt we had to change it because I was looking further ahead than just this game. That selection problem doesn't always work in the way you want it to, but on Saturday it really did.
"Coming into a winning team is difficult because the players themselves don't know how their impact is going to affect things. But we've got exactly what we want. We need players to come back into the team who are wanting to take their chance and I thought the four of them did really well.
"It's competition for places and that's what we want."
