There’s A Really Big Night At Both Ends Ahead In The North

By Sam Elliott

With little over a month left to play, things are bubbling away nicely in the National League North.

Tonight we’ve got five matches - and there are a lot of important points up for grabs.

Leaders Stockport County know they need to do what most people are excepting them to and beat Ashton United.

With Chorley now seven points ahead, Jim Gannon’s team play the first of their two games in hand.

But this match comes with a red flag - Ashton stunned their title rivals last month, don’t forget.

Jody Bamin’s men are also in the middle of an intense scrap for salvation. It’s a big night down the bottom.

FC United know time is running out to get out of trouble. It’s a tall order but they are looking to win at home to York City later on.

That would up the heat on out-of-form Guiseley. Their fans know the importance of finally getting a victory later on, they welcome Curzon Ashton.

Hereford should be safe now and Brackley are looking a very good bet for the play-offs.

They meet at Edgar Street with both looking to secure daylight.

Bradford Park Avenue are fourth and can put one hand on their place in the top seven with a home victory over AFC Telford.

But the Bucks are in the fight too and are currently in possession of the all important seventh place.

Tonight's National League North fixtures:
