There's A Big Night Of National League Action Ahead!

By Oliver Osborn

As the festive fixtures edge closer, several National League sides will be hoping to avoid a nightmare before Christmas in this evening’s midweek action.

One of Hartlepool United or Stockport County will move into the Vanarama National League play-off places with victory over the other at Victoria Park.

The hosts bowed out of the FA Trophy on Saturday but have been bolstered by the recent additions of Jamie Sterry and Luke Armstrong, with the latter scoring twice on debut in their most recent home game.

Jim Gannon’s Hatters head to the North East with four away wins in five matches, with defeat coming in last Tuesday’s televised clash at Notts County. Three points in this fixture would propel the side into fourth.

The night’s second fifth-tier fixture sees Eastleigh take the long trip to FC Halifax Town- a team in a rich vein of form in front of goal.

The visiting Spitfires have been strong on their travels so far this season, winning three from four on the road.

In the FA Trophy, Alfreton Town face King’s Lynn Town and Bromley take on Hemel Hempstead Town.
