There's A Big Night Of National League Action Ahead Of Us

By Sam Elliott

Tuesday night is all about massive movement at the top of the three divisions.

And, of course, some crucial points on offer at the other end of the tables too!

We could - potentially - have three new leaders in all the leagues. Talk about a night of high drama ahead of us!

Wrexham will sit atop the National League for the first time since December if they collect three points at Boreham Wood.

On the face of it, the suddenly in-form Red Dragons should have enough against a side without a win in seven and who just lost 4-0 at home to Hartlepool.

But this is the National League. There is no second guessing what will go on in the title race!

AFC Fylde blew the chance to up the heat on leaders Solihull Moors on Saturday but they could move within four points if they polish off Havant at Mill Farm.

Ebbsfleet may go within two points of the top seven places - but they won’t have it easy against a Hartlepool side inspired by Craig Hignett’s arrival.

Fleet need Barnet to do them a big favour. They go to Sutton United, who want to tighten their grip on their play-off place after late agony at the weekend at home to Barrow.

There’s a big one at the bottom, too. It’s now or never surely for John Still’s Maidstone who take on a FC Halifax side who haven’t been able to drag themselves away from trouble. Will the Stones’ revival begin?

It will take a minor miracle for Stockport County to overtake Chorley on Tuesday night.

They need a six-goal swing at home to Southport but Jim Gannon’s side haven’t lost since November in the National League North and want to go level with the Magpies.

Spennymoor are also in great form - they are looking to make it six wins in a row tonight.

They go to Altrincham very much in the title race. Success will see them close the gap to four points and Jason Ainsley’s men would still have a game in hand.

It’s a big night for Ashton United as well in their battle to stay in the league for a second season.

AFC Telford’s form has taken a dip and Jody Banim won’t see a reason why his team can’t take maximum points at Hurst Cross.

We will have new National League South leaders for certain if things go Woking’s way.

Alan Dowson’s side play their game in hand again Hemel Hempstead Town - victory puts the Cards two points in front in the night’s only game in that division.
