The relegation race ended last night, the game up for Taunton Town after defeat at home to Weston-super-Mare. They join Dartford, Havant & Waterlooville and Dover Athletic in dropping out of the division.
But there’s still issues to resolve. Calculators at the ready, there’s still much to be decided so we’ll talk you through the permutations as the campaign reaches its climax.
Bath City are in the box seat to secure one of the last two play-off slots. It will need a huge goal swing at Aveley, one of the clubs looking to climb in, but a point in Essex will see them in for sure.
It’s been a great first year for the Millers but they will miss out unless they defeat the Romans - or if Hampton & RB win at Maidstone United. A draw at the Gallagher Stadium will be enough even with a narrow Aveley win as the Beavers are three goals better off.
But don’t rule out Farnborough - they’ll be in if Hampton and Aveley don’t win and Spencer Day’s team have joy at Weymouth.
The top three places are all up for grabs. Chelmsford City will take one if they win at Chippenham but if they don’t others could pounce. Worthing will also skip to the semi-finals if they win against weary Weston-super Mare.
But if one of them slips, fourth place Braintree will fancy their chances if they can defeat no safe Eastbourne Borough. Maidstone United could do it too, but they have to win at home to Hampton to stand any chance.
