By Sam Elliott

There’s a crucial weekend ahead of us in the National League so let’s dig a little deeper into the fixture list and find out just what could be in front of us.

Recent good runs will be put to the test but will the form boys stand tall or can there potentially be another Saturday or surprise scorelines?

It would be the upset of the season so far if new leadersSalford City game unstuck.

Although no away game is ever easy they will be short odds to see off Dover Athletic with the way both teams are playing. But the Ammies know the Whites need quick improvement if they are to kick on.

Dover’s manager Chris Kinnear will use Solihull Moors as their inspiration.

Already looking in serious danger this time last year, the stuck together. Not only did they stay up, but the club are in the mix for promotion a few months further down the line.

Tim Flowers’ team are at Barnet on Saturday looking to make it four wins in a row.

Last weekend was one to forget for Maidenhead and for Leyton Orient. The O’s lost for the first time at home to Sutton while the Stripes “didn’t compete” against Salford according to manager Alan Devonshire. They meet at York Road and it’s one of our feature games on Saturday.

Eastleigh have won three games back to back for the first time in years, all 1-0.

Will they come through a trip to bottom club Braintree with another win? Or will Brad Quinton’s side begin their climb?

Hartlepool need to get back to winning ways and their fans don’t want to see more home points dropped against Luke Garrard’s Boreham Wood.

Ebbsfleet secured a much-needed win at Dagenham but last weekend wasn’t just big for the Fleet.

Harrogate Town told everyone they’re going nowhere as they put on a great display to win 4-2 at Boreham Wood. These two meet this Saturday.

Wrexham can keep the heat on the teams at the top as they look to get another Racecourse win under their belts.

Out of form Havant pay them a visit - and the Red Dragons need to make it five home wins in eight having been yet to lose in front of their own fans under Sam Ricketts.

Gateshead’s home form needs addressing according to manager Steve Watson. Three home defeats on the spit has taken the shine off September's away day glory.

But Dagenham have slipped back into bad old habits. They need to avoid a fourth straight loss on Saturday on Tyneside.

Ian Evatt has got Barrow believing again but Sutton United head to the north west having just taken Leyton Orient’s undefeated record.

Meanwhile Chesterfield manager Martin Allen has already confirmed his team to play AFC Fylde.

FC Halifax didn’t win once in September and hope October offers better things.
