BT Sport couldn’t have timed their visit to Gander Green Lane much better on Saturday lunchtime.
Sutton United v Yeovil has quite a lot going for it. Not only are the teams two of the division’s on-song sides right now, but each have a striker who doesn’t seem to understand the idea of taking it easy on defenders.
Sutton’s Omar Bugiel has no fewer than five goals in his last two matches after a hat-trick against Wrexham and a classy first-half double at Woking on Boxing Day.
Yeovil’s Courtney Duffus sees that and raises him seven goals in four - he too fired in a treble at Torquay were put to the sword on Thursday.
Both managers think their forwards have the legs to keep coping with the festive fixtures.
“He’s a man in form!” said Sutton boss Matt Gray.
“Omar is playing with great confidence and he has been outstanding for a number of games now.
“We are 2-0 up against Woking on Boxing Day at half-time and I felt it should have actually been more - we just couldn’t get that third or fourth goal.
“We know Yeovil are right up there but Woking were fourth ahead of our last game.
“Yeovil are second, but we are one of the form teams in the division at the moment.
“We play the teams at the bottom as we do the teams at the top - I have said this for a long time now, the gap between those teams at one end of the table and the ones at the other end is minimal.
“We’ve just got to concentrate on our own game and keeping this great recent run going.”
Glovers boss Darren Sarll knows his side have been a little camera shy as they haven’t won when BT have broadcast the club live this season.
“What we are showing at the moment is real aggression,” he said after the thumping 6-2 win over Yeovil.
“But it’s not just that. We have a lot of energy, enthusiasm and we are playing with a real instinct.
“Sometimes when you over-coach players you lose that. We are very careful that we don’t - you don’t want to lose that instinct.
“The individual performances were again very high but we face a new challenge on Saturday and we have got to be just as up for it.
“Sutton have really found their form. It’s live on TV and we need to get it right in front of the cameras this time.”
