The Team Of Tuesday: The Stand-Out Stars Who Shone Bright

Last night there were a high number of critical victories - when not every club is in action the mice can play while the cat is away!

The weekend can’t come soon enough for fans of Solihull Moors, Welling, Concord Rangers, Hampton, Truro City, St Albans, Telford, Chorley, FC United and Stockport County - they all grabbed vital wins.

You’ll find their players filling up the Team of Tuesday night and we piece together a side who did the business at the business end of the season.

The National League Team of Tuesday Night:

Goalkeeper: Ross Durrant (North Ferriby)
What is it they say? If you are going down, go down fighting. Ferriby may be relegated but their goalkeeper and whole side were exceptional against Salford City.

Defender: Jamie Sendells-White (St Albans City)
Goals and a clean sheet for the Saints at Weston-super-Mare, Ian Allinson’s side are up to fourth thanks to back-to-back away wins.

Defender: Shane Sutton (AFC Telford)
A gigantic victory for the Bucks at Alfreton. Sutton, the tattooed centre-back, won absolutely everything to clinch victory and a clean sheet.

Defender: Ed Palmer (Truro City)
The leaders’ loss at Truro makes things rather interesting. Palmer and the White Tigers back line didn’t kept the Hawks at bay.

Defender: Liam Daly (Solihull Moors)
Now it’s getting interesting! Moors are now only in the bottom four on goals scored - Daly, one of their players of the season, again was their key man.

Midfielder: Craig Lindfield (FC United)
Another vital and classy goal and another gutsy display from the winger. FC United’s 1-0 win against Gainsborough pushes the Red Rebels up to 15th.

Midfielder: James Ball (Stockport County)
County just had to beat Boston and they got there…. just. Ball was Man of the Match and just kept going and going. Captain.

Midfielder: Khale Da Costa (Concord Rangers)
Rangers’ win at Chippenham was huge and they now move five points above the drop zone. Da Costa was one of a number of big performers in Wiltshire.

Striker: Shaun Jeffers (Hampton & RB)
His feet are “scary” according to Beavers captain Josh Casey - and they certainly were last night as his two goals clinched a vital win over Hungerford to close the gap to two points at the top.

Striker: Marcus Carver (Chorley)
The play-off race is still on for Chorley, and Marcus Carver’s brace earned three points against a big rival - and drew praise from manager Matt Jansen.

Striker: Adam Coombes (Welling United)
His return to Park View Road could make all the difference. Two goals at Bognor Regis fired the Wings back into the play-off places.
