There’s little room for error now with April well under way as the weeks tick down. Nobody wants to look back with regrets and it was another big weekend in the National League season.
The Team of the Weekend is jam-packed full of headline makers from Saturday’s matches.
We’ve gone with three strikers for our goal-filled team but it was the players at the other end who really stood out - in particular Havant duo Ryan Young and match-winning defender Dan Strugnell
To select our Super 16, we call on managers, club officials and reporters around the grounds to piece together the top team of the day.
Here’s what we’ve come up with. Did we miss someone special? Join the debate on twitter @TheNationalLge
National League South Team of the Weekend
Goalkeeper: Ryan Young (Havant & W)
His save from Jack Jebb at Welling United produced high praise from his manager. One of the best keepers in the league.
Defender: Jordan Brown (Concord Rangers)
Outstanding as free-scoring Hampton were kept at bay. Rangers are nearly safe now.
Defender: Josh Hill (Braintree Town)
The Iron clung on for a precious win at Hungerford and Hill was a mountain in the middle of the Braintree backline.
Defender: Kodi Lyons-Foster (Whitehawk)
Away to a St Albans City side in great form he produced an outstanding performance for the bottom markers
Defender: Dan Strugnell (Havant & W)
Scoring the winning goal and keeping a clean sheet at Welling United. He’s had worse days!
Midfielder: Alex Brown (Dartford)
The Darts got the job done against Weston - and Brown was a battler as they secured a valuable three points.
Midfielder: Nassim L’Ghoul (Whitehawk)
Scored one and set up another to give the Hawks one of the shock results of the season - a 3-0 win at in-form St Albans City. Captain.
Midfielder: Anthony Church (Chelmsford City)
The Clarets need their man in the middle to keep producing if they want promotion. He helped dig them out of a hole against Poole.
Striker: David Moyo (Hemel Hempstead)
If only he had been available all season. Dean Brennan knows the qualities his forward has. Double delight against Chippenham.
Striker: Joe Parker (Gloucester City)
Another two goals for the impressive striker against Bognor Regis - like his club, in great form since Marc Richards took over.
Striker: Sam Higgins (East Thurrock)
Now on 25 for the season thanks to his double against Truro City, and five clear in the race for the Golden Boot.
Substitutes:
Simon Peddie (East Thurrock United)
Jordan Parkes (Hemel Hempstead)
Jonathan North (Wealdstone)
Sam Nombe (Oxford City)
Gold Omotayo (Whitehawk)
