The Stars Come Out In Support Of Chester Tonight

The boots are being dusted off, muscles already being properly stretched and the much-needed half-time oranges sliced.

The years will be rolled back at the Swansway Chester Stadium tonight as heroes and stars collide and come out to support the club’s fundraising efforts.

Chester FC Select side vs Colin Murray’s All Stars has been weeks in the making but the football community is coming out to get behind them in a one of a kind match.

Big names have put their hands up to play - with former England star and Chester fan Michael Owen, a BT Sport pundit, promising to show off his skills.

Ian Rush, the former Liverpool striker, will also make an appearance - with Jason McAteer, Keith Gillespie and Clinton Morrison added to the bill.

Star names are one thing, but the home fans will be desperate to see if their old icons have still got it!

Conference winning captain Paul Carden is playing, and other favourites like Ryan Lowe, Shaun Reid and Paul Linwood will be putting their bodies on the line.

Presenter Murray has played a big part in the event and he said “I'm delighted to have captured the legend that is Ian Rush, and he will be lining up alongside another former Liverpool legend, Michael Owen in what is a unique and historic occasion being played under the Chester FC lights.

"To have two of Liverpool's record goalscorers on the same team is just absolutely phenomenal and this is going to be a treat for everyone going to this match!"
