The Shots board have decided Braintree Town’s manager is the best fit for the club following their relegation to the National League South.
The Iron went down with Aldershot from the National League - but the football they played after dropping down clearly impressed the EBB decision makers.
Aldershot parted company with Waddock after a season to forget.
“The 41-year old earned his UEFA Pro Licence this year and brings a fountain of coaching knowledge and fresh ideas to the club,” the club announced.
“Everybody at Aldershot Town is looking forward to this new chapter.”
The Shots chairman Shahid Azeem stated earlier this month that the club would be willing to use part-time players next season as they look to bounce back.
