The Seven National League Matches All Set For Saturday

By Sam Elliott

The FA Cup may be taking centre-stage this weekend but don’t forget there’s a sizeable chunk of National League action too.

The Fourth Qualifying Round is upon us but 14 of our clubs are back in action battling for three precious points!

There are no fewer than five games in the National League North as we say hello to a new face.

FC United of Manchester secured themselves a new manager on Thursday as Neil Reynolds took over after an agreement was reached with Bamber Bridge.

He couldn’t have asked for a more demanding start as he takes his team to title chasing Kidderminster Harriers.

Two former Football League names lock horns - Boston United are back on track and head to Darlington looking to put pressure on the top seven.

Nobody is in better form than Spennymoor right now. They have won their last five in the league but a trip to FA Trophy winners Brackley will be a huge test of their improvement.

Struggling Nuneaton need the points and so do Bradford (PA) for other reasons - the teams meet at Liberty Way.

Curzon Ashton host AFC Telford with John Flanagan’s men seeing this as a huge chance to put distance between themselves as the bottom three.

In the National League South we have just the two matches but they both could be crucial.

There’s an early season six-pointer down at the bottom as East Thurrock United host Hungerford Town.

Separated by the dreaded dotted line, the Rocks will be desperate to pull away from the bottom three after traffic chaos ruined their chances of a game at Weston last weekend.

Dulwich Hamlet and Dartford fans may have hoped for better this season with both in the lower half of the table.

But a win for the Darts will drag them into the top seven while three points for Dulwich at Princes Park will see Gavin Rose’s Hamlet leapfrog the Kent club.

National League North fixtures:
Spennymoor v Brackley
Curzon Ashton v AFC Telford
Darlington v Boston United
Kidderminster v FC United
Nuneaton v Bradford PA

National League South fixtures:
Dartford v Dulwich Hamlet
East Thurrock v Hungerford
