The Red Hot Title Race’s Fires Stoked In The Big Freeze!

The big freeze couldn’t force the race for promotion to be put on ice.

There were big wins for Notts County, Wrexham and Chesterfield - plus some important matches down the bottom.

Wrexham thought they had the leadership back as they were cursing to victory at Eastleigh with goals from Elliot Lee and Ben Tozer.

It looked like Maidenhead United were doing them a huge favour after continuing to peg Notts County back.

But 21-goal marksman Macaulay Langstaff has other ideas - his fine winner secured a 4-3 victory.

Chesterfield are back to third after turning on the style late on against Dorking Wanderers.

With the game poised at 1-1 heading into the final five minutes, Armando Dobra and Joe Quigley struck to keep them in the hunt.

Woking had a rare slip as York City produced a get well soon gift for new manager David Webb.

The 2-0 victory in Surrey was sealed by Lenell John Lewis.

Altrincham continue their big improvement with a 3-2 success at Maidstone United, what turned out to be the decisive goal was struck by Chris Conn-Clarke.

A 6-2 win at Gloucester City was the attacker hit a hat-trick and Ben Liddle and Mark Beck got in on the act.

Buxton warmed their fans up with a brilliant 3-0 win over Peterborough Sports, the match was put to bed by Sam Osbourne.

There was plenty of National League South action.

With the leaders Ebbsfleet iced off, it was vital Dartford and Havant took full advantage.

The Darts couldn’t, blunted by Bath City but Paul Doswell’s Hawks did - a 3-1 success at Slough Town was earned with goals from Charlie Ruff, Danny Wright and Billy Clifford.

The shock result saw Weymouth hit Tonbridge for five on the road, Bradley Ash burying a hat-trick.

He wasn’t the only player to hit a treble.

Shaun Jeffers is once again having a great season, his three goals helped St Albans City slice Chelmsford City apart.

Reliable Joe Iaciofano make Oxford City’s point as they drew 1-1 at Eastbourne, Chris Whelpdale put the Sports in front early on.
