The National League Team Of Tuesday Night Confirmed

By Sam Elliott

Well you weren’t expecting a quiet Tuesday night in the National League, were you?

It wasn’t just the Champions League which saw fantastic comebacks and brilliant away performances.

As Macclesfield left themselves on the brink of glory, Tranmere came back from the dead as Barrow and Solihull have themselves real hope of survival.

So we thought we would piece together a Team of Tuesday Night to celebrate the evening’s action and honour the players who stood out.

If you aren’t familiar with our process, we lean on club officials, managers and journalists around the ground as we stick together 16 stars and find a formation to suit.

But have we dropped the ball? Join the debate on twitter now @TheNationalLge

Goalkeeper: Shwan Jalal (Macclesfield Town)
Not many keepers keep Boreham Wood at bay at home. Jalal now has one glove on the championship trophy.

Defender: Tyrone Williams (Solihull Moors)
They kept their composure again - and another clean sheet. Solihull Moors’ great escape goes from strength to strength and Williams was outstanding.

Defender: Jordan Tunnicliffe (AFC Fylde)
It’s not just the Coasters exciting attackers who know where the net in. Their defenders do too. Tunnicliffe’s double helped down Torquay.

Defender: Dave Winfield (Ebbsfleet)

He won absolutely everything against Wrexham, whose forwards never give anyone an easy night.

Defender: Sam Graham (FC Halifax)
A massive win for Halifax means they can enjoy a worry-free end to the season. Graham was colossal.

Midfielder: Lewis Walters (Barrow)
Scored what turned out to be the winner to secure a first home win since October for Barrow. Timely, to say the least.

Midfielder: Ryan Upward (Maidenhead United)

Excellent as he and the Stripes added to Woking’s woes. Upward inspired a brilliant late show.

Midfielder: Luke Coulson (Ebbsfleet)
At the heart of everything good about the Fleet as they picked apart Wrexham. Can they still make the top seven?

Striker: Nathan Brown (Chester)

The Blues’ homegrown match winner raised a smile in an otherwise horrid few days for the club.

Striker: Tyrone Marsh (Macclesfield)
Two goals and top billing for Macclesfield as they won once again, this time at Boreham Wood. Can they get the job done on Saturday?

Striker: Andy Cook (Tranmere Rovers)

Wow. We said on Saturday he is in the form of his career and we weren’t wrong. Four goals and Danny Rowe suddenly has competition for the Golden Boot.

Substitutes:
Dominic Vose (Chester)
George Carline (Solihull Moors)
Jack Muldoon (AFC Fylde)
Mike Fondop-Talom (FC Halifax)
Sean Marks (Maidenhead)
