The National League North Golden Boot Race Is Nearly Run

By Sam Elliott

The final day of the season is fast approaching - as is the final day of the battle to clinch the National League North Golden Boot!

With play-off goals not counting in the end of season stats, we will soon know who to top scorers are across the divisions.

With just one game to go there is only two goals in it - will we get a final day twist on the scoring side?

Playing catch up is Stockport County striker Jason Oswell. He needs two more to match Jason Gilchrist and his club have a tough game at home to Darlington.

It’s not any easier for Southport, who hope they have the league’s top marksman come 5pm on Saturday. They are at Spennymoor.

Or could Brackley’s Aaron Williams still have a say? He needs a hat-trick at home to York City to chase down the Golden Boot after his great season.
