The Bromley manager thinks the division brings new challenges each year but doesn’t see why his team can’t be involved in the promotion picture again.
They left Chesterfield on Tuesday night heartbroken after coming so close to taking three points.
The 1-1 draw leaves the club in 18th but with the campaign's half-way point looming he hasn't given up hope of being involved in the chase for the top seven.
In an interview with kentishfootball.co.uk he says it’s become harder and harder each season - and says some ‘home truths’ were spoken after Saturday’s home defeat to Dagenham.
“This league is getting more and more difficult, when you’ve got a club like Chesterfield with the facilities they’ve got and everything else,” he said. “We’re disappointed going home with a draw so I’m delighted with the players that we got the result.
“I thought they were outstanding. I just said how proud I am and honoured to be their manager after a performance like that.
“When you go away from home, seen their stadium and the players’ that they’ve got, to leave it until the last minute was disappointing in that respect but I couldn’t be more pleased with the boys performance.
“After losing 2-0 at home to Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday when we were disappointed, we had a few home truths but we don’t want to keep saying that – but we do.
“We look at ourselves and when we’re good and we’re organised and we’re together we are very good. When one or two don’t turn up, we’re always going to struggle.”
