Four of our sides made it into the last eight by finishing in either first or second place at the group stages - and two of them get the ball rolling this evening.
We are one step from the semi-finals and we’ve got some intriguing ties to look forward to.
It’s the turn of Sutton United and Altrincham to see if they can clinch a place in the final four, and we’re about to see if they can go toe-to-toe with a big hitter.
Sutton welcome Manchester United to Gander Green Lane later on in a huge cup week. Steve Morison’s team also have an FA Trophy quarter-final date with Spennymoor Town this weekend and they’re not the only club with an additional focus.
Altrincham take on Rochdale on Saturday with their eyes fixed on Wembley - but first it is Newcastle United’s U21 team in the National League Cup.
On Tuesday March 11, the other two semi-finals take place.
Braintree Town were brilliant in the group stages, winning all their four matches, scoring 11 goals in the process.
Brighton & Hove Albion stand between them and the semi-finals, with the Seagulls heading for Essex in a few weeks’ time.
Aldershot Town sat proudly on top of Group A after winning three of their four matches and now Leeds United’s talented youngsters visit the EBB Stadium in a fortnight.
The competition, which kicked-off in October, offers an opportunity for National League players to play regular matches against the best U21 teams in the country.
The launch marked another exciting chapter in our partnership with the Premier League and the group stages provided plenty of excitement.
