A 1-0 FA Cup win over Blyth Spartans last weekend meant it’s three straight wins for the first time since January.
In fact the Minstermen have won five of their last six in all competitions - a period which coincided with Collins being given the manager’s job full-time.
But the new boss isn’t planning on putting his feet up and enjoying this new lease of life.
A crunch game at AFC Telford United is around the corner and demanded full focus, he says.
“I’m really pleased with the players and for them as well,” he said. “We’ve not done anything yet but the results have been coming.
“We’ve had to put bodies on the line and we’ll need to keep doing that in the FA Cup and in the National League North.
“It’s Swindon away in the first round and we’re looking forward to that but the focus has to be on the next game, which is Telford,” he added.
“There’s a lot of football to be played before the next round. We need to keep this momentum going.”
