The Isuzu FA Trophy Resumes As The Route To Wembley Opens Up

By Sam Elliott

With the quarter finals now only one game away, the teams left in the FA Trophy can see the pathway to Wembley opening up.

The last sides still standing go into battle again this weekend, and 16 will become eight on Saturday night as things start to get serious.

There are some great ties to look forward and and following a goal frenzy of a fourth round, what’s in store this time?

Worthing have just shot to the top of the National League South - but a promotion quest is not the only thing on their mind.

National League big hitters Rochdale arrive on the south coast with a great cup tie in prospect.

Forest Green Rovers fancy a shot at the FA Trophy and they are also on the road with a trip to an Oxford City side who know they must be better than they were in midweek when they conceded five at home to Curzon Ashton.

Southend United fans are happy with a home draw, Step 3 Sittingbourne visit, while Altrincham and Eastleigh pause their play-off push as they meet with the Robins already putting one over the Spitfires in January, pictured.

Woking want to win the competition for a record fourth time but it's a demanding game at Gainsborough Trinity, who are sensational in the cups this season.

After knocking out the holders Gateshead, Boston United return to the North East and take on Spennymoor Town who go into the game after scoring four times as Southport.

Kidderminster face Sutton United with both teams looking for promotion as well as a long run.

Aldershot Town scored eight against Chertsey Town last time out and it is Boreham Wood next, and Luke Garrard's team know they need to put a dreadful week behind them.

There is £6,000 up for grabs for winning clubs, with the defeated sides still earning £1,750 from the FA prize pot.

All Saturday’s ties:
Gainsborough v Woking
Southend United v Sittingbourne
Spennymoor Town v Boston United
Oxford City v Forest Green
Aldershot Town v Boreham Wood
Kidderminster v Sutton United
Worthing v Rochdale
Altrincham v Eastleigh
