The Hess Express Is Full Steam Ahead At In-Form Eastleigh

So far so good. That’s how Eastleigh’s new manager Andy Hessenthaler summed up his great start at the helm.

The Spitfires’ 2-1 victory at Torquay as good as banishes any fears that the Spitfires had that they could be sucked into trouble. Watch Match Highlights Here.

It’s three wins from five now and having drawn the other two games Hessenthaler is delighted by their best run of a difficult season.

The former Gillingham boss replaces Richard Hill after he decided to move upstairs at the Silverlake Stadium and the pair’s new arrangement seems to be working.

Hessenthaler paid tribute to his players’ workrate as they continue to turn their season around.

“Torquay don’t make it easy for you and you can never look too closely at the league table,” he said.

“They are scraping for every ball and for every point so to go there and win shows real character.

“Hopefully we have turned a bit of a corner. We’re six matches unbeaten now and our confidence is growing with every match we play.

“We had to dig in an and we did. It’s a fantastic three points and we are certainly looking up.”
