Holt came back to the club a month ago in a player-coach role, he alongside boss Ady Pennock have seen a number of impressive results picked up so far, writes Tom Feaheny.
"I'm loving being back at Barrow, this is a club that means a lot to me and to be helping them on this run, is a nice feeling," Holt said.
Last weekend they defeated FC Halifax Town with Holt being on the touchline with Pennock, although he nearly made an appearance but the full-time whistle went before he came on, something Holt wasn't too bothered about.
"I'm happy being on the bench helping Ady as best as I can as long as we are winning, I was ready to come on but I could see the referee was going to blow, I thought I'd at least be on for ten seconds before he did!"
In the last month Barrow have climbed away from the drop zone and picked up three wins away from home, as they look to move up the table, Holt says he can see the improvements with the side on the training pitch as well.
"This team keeps going, we are getting better, bigger and stronger, the lads are buying into it, lads are coming off shattered you can see the hard work."
Their latest win was secured with Jordan White getting the winner and Holt was full of praise for his attitude and work ethic.
"Jordan has worked really hard and been a team player, he was on the left at Gateshead, he is learning along with the squad, you can see the progression."
For Holt it was also a return to an old side at the Shay, he says the rejection he had at the start of his career helped him in the end.
"My time at teams like FC Halifax Town was the making of me, that mental toughness it gave me and then I've not done bad since!"
Holt will be part of the Barrow squad that host Dag & Red and Holt knows the importance of picking up their home form.
"We take on a different challenge, a team with a lot of attacking talent, we need to get a win at home, for our fans, we have impressed away now we need to do it at our place."
