The Finest Moult! Wrexham To Benefit From Ex-Star's Move

By Steven Coney

Christmas has come early for Wrexham after it was confirmed that former striker Louis Moult would be signing for Preston North End.

Moult scored 23 goals in 47 appearances for the Dragons before leaving for Scottish Premiership outfit Motherwell in July 2015.

Wrexham negotiated a sell-on clause as part of the deal that took him north of the border and they will now benefit from that.

The 25-year-old, it has been confirmed, will be moving to Championship club Preston on January 1 for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £450,000.

It’s not known how much Wrexham will net from the deal but it’s a bonus regardless for the Racecourse club.

Dragons club secretary Geraint Parry told the Daily Post: “It’s good news for Louis and Wrexham though we don’t know how much money we will receive as a result.

“Potentially though, it will be a pleasant New Year bonus. We wish Louis all the best at Preston as he was excellent when he was here.”

Wrexham were beaten 4-1 at Macclesfield Town last Saturday but still remain in a good position, sitting just two points off the top of the National League.
