The Final Four: FA Trophy Semi-Final Excitement Builds

We are now two matches away from Wembley with these four sides looking forward to a crucial first-leg taking place this weekend.

All four Vanarama National League sides know there is plenty at stake for the teams involved, writes Tom Feaheny.

For Kevin Wilkin's side they have now surpassed their best run in the competition after previously reaching the last eight last season and this one as well.

Brackley are 28 games unbeaten at home in all competitions, a run that has lasted since last March, so they are now nearly a full year undefeated at St James' Park.

They also have the upper hand based on facing each other last season, with Town defeating Wealdstone 4-1 in the FA Trophy 3rd round.

Brackley boss Wilkin has reached the final of the competition with Wrexham, though that ended in defeat against North Ferriby United.

For Wealdstone their best time in the FA Trophy was when they won it in 1985 on May 11th Andy Graham and Lee Holmes gave the side a half-time lead against Boston United and despite missing a penalty during the first-half and conceding in the second they held on to win.

Bobby Wilkinson says it is a proud day for the side as they look ahead to trying to get to Wembley, they defeated Billericay Town in the last round beating a team a division below.

They met once before last season as well, in the 2010/11 season when Wealdstone in November of 2010 gained a 1-0 win.

Wealdstone boss Wilkinson is mid-way trough his first season with the side, he was previously in charge of Hungerford Town during his time there he had a win percentage of 70%.

It has been a dramatic progression for Steve Watson's side who have had three replays, an extra-time winner and coming back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3.

Gateshead have reached a this stage of the competition before when they reached the semi-finals in the 2010-11 campaign. The Heed didn't make the final though losing to Darlington.

It is now five matches unbeaten for the side, who mid-table in the Vanarama National League and looking to have their day at Wembley.

The Heed boss has played for the likes of Newcastle United and Aston Villa, he reacted the Trophy Final just last season as Macclesfield Town assistant.

Bromley reached the second round of the Trophy last season that was their joint-best record but they were defeated by Welling United 2-1.

They also gained victory over the Heed in the league near the start of the season, these two sides will face each other three times in the next month.

Ex Fulham midfielder Neil Smith is in charge of Bromley, after being assistant for five years, since taking over he has helped the side get to the Vanarama National League as they continue to impress.
