The FA Cup Third Round Draw Has Been Made

By Sam Elliott

The draw for the third round of the FA Cup has been made as the three last standing National League clubs discover their fate.

Traditionally one of the biggest days in the football calendar, the third round sees Premier League and Championship clubs join the party.

Chorley, heroes once again on Saturday after coming from behind to win at Peterborough, have been handed a home tie against Derby County - and of course Wayne Rooney.

Jim Gannon's Stockport County overcame Yeovil Town in an all National League second round tie on Sunday and their reward is a home game with Premier League West Ham United.

Boreham Wood went through after the draw was made, a 3-0 win at Canvey Island saw them take their place in the third round with ease.

Luke Garrard’s professional team progressed in Essex, and now they will be at home to Millwall.

After banking a winners’ cheque of £34,000 in round two, the prize fund in round three stands at £82,000.

The matches will take place from Friday January 8 through to Monday January 11.

The FA Cup third round draw:
Chorley v Derby County
Stockport County v West Ham
