The Edge At Easter! Titles In Sight On Big Day In All Divisions

By Sam Elliott

Two teams are now inches away from joining the National League - but some of those looking to stay in it are growing more and more concerned.

York City aren’t any more. A win over champions Chesterfield, their third in a row puts them in nearer safety - Dipo Akinyemi hit the winner and the Minstermen move up to 16th.

But for many of the others down the bottom, the anxiety grows. Dorking Wanderers need a miracle now after Bromley left 2-0 winners. Michael Cheek and Callum Reynolds both scored.

Boreham Wood are in big big trouble - they went down 4-1 at home to Dagenham. Josh Rees scored twice.

Kidderminster have it all to down now, they lost 3-1 at home to Altrincham while Ebbsfleet still have concerns - they earned a 1-1 draw at home to Southend, Dom Poleon grabbed a point.

It’s was a brilliant day for Maidenhead. Remy Clerima’s two goals damaged Aldershot’s play-off push as it ended 4-0. Wealdstone have worried as Josh Parker ended Oxford City’s winless run.

TNT Sports viewers enjoyed a thriller as Matty Warburton earned Solihull Moors a 2-2 draw with Barnet. Gateshead win again, Dajaune Brown’s goal defeated Rochdale.

Oldham Athletic need a lot to go their way if they are to make the play-offs now but AFC Fylde are all but safe after a 3-1 win at Boundary Park. Nick Haughton scored again.

Eastleigh’s chances of avoiding relegation were enhanced by defeating Woking 1-0 - the Cards are far from safe themselves. Hartlepool United beat FC Halifax 1-0 to make up for their implosion at Gateshead in midweek.

Just goal difference is keeping Tamworth from the National League North title after they defeated Bishop’s Stortford 3-0.

Only Chorley, who also won by the same scoreline at Darlington, can mathematically stop the Lambs now after Scunthorpe United drew 0-0 with King’s Lynn Town.

South Shields won the huge play-off battle as they ended Spennymoor Town’s brilliant run. Aaron Martin and Dylan Stephenson scored.

Chester turned up on the style to win 4-1 against Buxton, Tom Peers added the gloss.

Stefan Mols hit a hat-trick as Curzon Ashton claimed a huge three points at Blyth Spartans. Jordan Thewlis’ winner gave Alfreton a 1-0 win over Rushall Olympic.

Deadly Boston United duo Kelsey Mooney and Jimmy Knowles both scored as the Pilgrims won 2-1 against Peterborough Sports.

Yeovil Town keep their rivals at arms’ length for another matchday - and can potentially get the job done next weekend.

A 3-0 win over Torquay United edged the Glovers closer, Jahmari Clarke’s double and a Jordan Young goal made it a one sided grudge match in front of a National League South record crowd.

Chelmsford City will fancy the play-offs. Charlie Ruff and George Alexander both bagged braces at home to troubled Dartford.

Eastbourne Borough suffered a huge set back as they went down 5-1 to Maidstone United. Lemar Reynolds got a hat-trick.

Braintree Town won 1-0 at St Albans City, Aaron Blair nabbed the winner. Hampton and Tonbridge drew 0-0.

Ollie Pearce scored two as Worthing hit five at Havant & Waterlooville to all but relegate the Hawks. Dover are definitely down - Welling United won 1-0.

Elsewhere there were big wins for Aveley, Weston-super-Mare and struggling Truro City.
