The Big Preview: Saturday's FA Trophy Action

By Tom Scott

After the FA Cup spectacle last week, it’s the turn of the FA Trophy to take centre stage.

We thought we’d bring you a preview of seven of the weekend’s stand out ties.

There’s a replay of one of last years First Round ties as Sam Collins takes his York City side to Aggborough to face Kidderminster Harriers.

The Minstermen are six games without a win but will be looking to emulate the club’s heroes from their FA Trophy win in 2012.

Ashley Chambers played a part in that trophy win for York but could line up against his old side for the Harriers.

Leamington
have been in superb form in the league - winning their last three games - and will have to be on top form against Witton Albion.

The Northern Premier League side have already claimed the scalps of Spennymoor Town and FC United of Manchester in this season’s FA Cup.

Chorley make the short trip to Stockport County looking to make amends for their loss to the Hatters earlier on in the season.

Jim Gannon’s men won that encounter 3-0 but will be looking to bounce back after their first loss in 12 games last week in the league.

Two of the National League North’s in-form sides go head to head at Moss Lane. Bradford (Park Avenue) are in town looking to improve on their league showing against Altrincham where they lost 4-2 to Phil Parkinson’s men.

Last season’s winners Brackley Town continue their defence of the trophy against Nuneaton Borough.

The Boro parted ways with Nicky Eaden this week with Lee Fowler taking their reigns. A good cup run could be the perfect distraction from their league form.

Billericay Town
were dumped out of the FA Cup by Chesterfield last weekend and will now turn their attentions to the FA Trophy for a chance of silverware.

Dean Brennan’s men have a trip to Hampton and Richmond Borough to contend with as they look for their first win in four games.

Wealdstone
fell at the semi-final stage in last season’s FA Trophy and have had a great season so far in the league and make the trip to Concord Rangers.

After starting life under Neil Reynolds like a house on fire, FC United of Manchester travel to Edgar Street knowing they could be in for a tough time.

Hereford
are still searching for only their second win in all competitions since mid-August.

And after throwing away a two-goal lead against Darlington last week, the Bulls will no doubt have the bit between their teeth.
