"The Best Yet", Maidstone Duo Happy With What They're Seeing

Maidstone management pair Hakan Hayrettin and John Still might just have seen their best performance yet.

At least that's what the bosses themselves think, anyway.

Stones fans might have feared the worst when their team started the season with back-to-back defeats after relegation from the National League.

But since then, they've only tasted defeat twice in the 15 games that followed - but Saturday's win at Billericay Town was something else according to Still and Hayrettin.

"It was a very good performance," Hayrettin said. "I think it’s the best we’ve played in ages. We were good value for money, and it was certainly one of our best performances of the season."

Still added: "Even looking back to last season. We beat a very good Barnet game here – but that’s the best performance we’ve seen since we’ve been here.

"It’s a credit to everyone involved. We’ve put on some demanding training sessions and today it went perfect, we were very very good today."

Away games with Braintree and Hampton & Richmond Borough are next up - and Hayrettin doesn't want any complacency to creep in.

"We’ve got to keep that momentum up now," he said. "We’re slowly getting the rewards for our work on the training pitch."
