A huge derby game between Stockport County and FC United of Manchester is certain to be the talk of the city.

Liam Watson is back at Southport - and he is also back at AFC Telford United on the first day of the new season.

He is sure to get a warm welcome having taken the Bucks to the Conference North title back in 2014.

Billy Heath has made no fewer than 15 changes at Alfreton and an interesting first game at home to Kidderminster Harriers will put his new squad to the test.

York City are hoping for better next season but will know an opening day visit to Chorley wasn’t on their wanted list.

Altrincham are back after just a year away and Phil Parkinson’s team start at home. They face Leamington.

Hereford bounce into the National League North on the back of three straight title wins. They have already sold 1,600 season tickets and they will be in use on August 4 when the Bulls host Blyth Spartans.

Chester’s new management team of Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley begin in front of their own fans, Spennymoor Town providing the opposition.

Bradford (Park Avenue) AFC have a new name but they’ll be hoping for more of the same next season.

Maybe they have a score to settle. They take on Brackley Town first - the side who knocked them out in the play-off semi final back in May.

Darlington are at home to Curzon Ashton and newboys Ashton United hope to get off to a great start at Step 2 at home to Nuneaton Borough, another club with a summer name revamp.

Guiseley’s new managers Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neill have a big rebuild on their hands. They’ve been given a difficult first game, they go to Boston United.
