The moment we’ve waited for is finally here - and yes, it’s thrown up some fascinating first day encounters.

The Vanarama National League will get off to a rip-roaring start on August 4 with some mouthwatering fixtures coming out.

BT Sport will be announcing their matches for the month later today - and they’ve been spoilt for choice on the opening day.

Aldershot welcome recently-relegated Barnet to the EBB Stadium, with fellow new-boys Chesterfield on the road as they head to Ebbsfleet United.

Salford City, the champions of the National League North, face an intriguing start to life in the top tier - Leyton Orient visit the Peninsular Stadium.
