Teletubby Trecker Dowson Is Ready To Raise Thousands!

Alan Dowson has vowed to pass his fitness test and as he tries to raise £3,000 by taking on a marathon challenge dressed as a Teletubby!

The Dartford manager is getting in the zone ahead of Thursday where he will run 140 laps of the club’s Princes Park pitch.

Doing it to raise vital funds for the club’s Supporters Association, everyone is getting behind him.

But there’s one message of support he maybe wishes he didn’t receive.

His former defender Ben Gerring vowed to throw £200 into the pot if he dresses as a character for the colourful 90s kids’ show as he makes his way around.

He even sent the costume to Kent to make sure he does it and Dowson has accepted the challenge.

The former Woking and Hampton manager will want the sun to continue to hide but urged anyone who can spare a few pounds to donate to the cause.

He is no stranger to this type of thing and a few years ago did 100 laps of Woking’s pitch to raise money for a boy’s operation.

Dowse said: “I’m actually looking forward to it - even if I may have to do it dressed like a Teletubby!

“I wasn’t expecting that but Ben Gerring is a crackerjack, he knew I wouldn’t have an option but to accept when he got in touch.

“He’s even sent the costume to the club, so there’s no getting out of it now.

“I have a little calf niggle and they’re telling me not to run it so it could turn into a 24-hour marathon!

“The money we’re raising is going back into the club to help with various things so it’s something I’m more than happy to do. The fans here are great and every penny counts at Dartford after what has happened here in the past.”
