Tear-ing Them Apart! Dom Is Proving His Point To Greening

Dom Tear’s ruthless start to the new season appears to be powered by proving a point to his manager.

Scarborough Athletic’s talented attacker, 24, hit the winner to consign Scunthorpe United to their first defeat of the season last weekend.

The victory put the club back in the play-off places ahead of the up-coming FA Cup break.

Tear secured the Seadogs’ first National League North win since August 24 and Jonathan Greening says he’s in brilliant shape.

Tear has scored six goals already from out wide, just one away from leading scorer Charlie Caton of Chester.

His manager thinks fans are seeing the best from him because he was left out more than he wanted to be last season and Greening said: “He’s come back really fit and really strong.

“Last year he didn’t get the number of chances he probably thought he should have, so he had a point to prove to me. He is taking his opportunity.

“His run for the winning goal was amazing. It’s not just Dom, every player has put a real shift in.

“It was a great game of football against a strong Scunthorpe side with a busy crowd and hopefully this can really push us forward.”

Warrington Rylands await this weekend and with Scarborough’s rich tradition in the competition he knows they simply can’t afford to relax on Saturday.

“I love the FA Cup, we know we have to turn up as it is a difficult place to go,” he told the club’s YouTube channel.
