By Tom Feaheny

There was plenty of important of results in the Vanarama National League North, but which players really stood out?

Harrogate Town went back to top of the league with a six nil win and two sides gained victories thanks to added time goals, writes Tom Feaheny.

But who were the players that made it all happen?

As we do every week, we get on the phone to club officials, reporters and managers to gage their views on the weekend’s best - and build a squad of 16.

Here is what we’ve come up with following Saturday’s National League North games.

Another week in the team of the weekend for Heaton, who extended his contract with the side recently, he has developed in the past few months and continues to impress.

Defence: Danny Parslow (York City)

In a tough game, the experience Parslow has was key, he was disciplined throughout.

Defence: Liam Kitching (Harrogate Town)

The young Leeds United defender, stood out in defence, with his interceptions being key to starting several attacks, plus a looping header got him on the score sheet as well.

An assist and in a match where he was called upon on several times, he ensured Brackley gained an important three points.

Midfield: George Thomson (Harrogate Town)

You could see the midfielder was full of confidence, he delivered a fine display, scoring a hat-trick and being a constant threat.

He just can't stop scoring can he? Gilchrist took his goal well and got the side on the front foot.
