We have every sympathy. It’s not much easier picking out 16 of the best for our Team of the Weekend.
It was another weekend of high intensity with surprise result across the division.
We have once again called on our selection panel of managers, club officials and journalists to be our eyes and ears to make sure we don’t miss a key performer.
Big results for Torquay United, Aldershot, FC Halifax and Maidstone United in particular saw a number of their names included.
If you think we’ve not got the big calls right, you’ve got to tell us! Join the debate on twitter @TheNationalLge
The National League Team of the Weekend:
Goalkeeper: Grant Smith (Boreham Wood)
Eastleigh is one of the most difficult places to go right now but Boreham Wood made light work of it - a lot of that was down to their goalkeeper.
Defender: David Fitzpatrick (Macclesfield)
The full-back knows the opportunity his club has and isn’t about to surrender the chance of doing something special without a fight. Led by example as the Silkmen beat Guiseley 2-1.
Defender: Scott Garner (FC Halifax)
An easy inclusion. A goal at Wrexham and an excellent defensive performance for the strugglers contained the leaders.
Defender: Dave Winfield (Ebbsfleet)
Out of form Ebbsfleet needed to get back of track against an in-form Solihull and their Mr Reliable was in charge of the shut out. A vital win for the Fleet.
Defender: Joe Anderson (Maidstone United)
Few would have expected the Stones to stay in the game at Hayes Lane but Jay Saunders’ out of sorts side put in a real shift. Anderson won every tackle.
Midfielder: Damon Lathorpe (Woking)
Showed why Anthony Limbrick paid a fee to Torquay to bring him to the Cards in January. He ran the show.
Midfielder: Luke Young (Torquay United)
He pulled all the string for the goals at Maidenhead and if he carries on like this, the Gulls have a genuine shot at survival.
Midfielder: Jim Kellermann (Aldershot)
He likes scoring for the Shots live on TV. His opener at Dagenham got the team up and running. So much energy and drive.
Midfielder: Kieron Cadogan (Sutton United)
Paul Doswell says his side answered some questions as they beat Dover at the Crabble. Cadogan got the vital winning goal and was a constant threat.
Striker: Danny Rowe (AFC Fylde)
It looks like he will take some stopping to win a second Golden Boot in a row. Two goals at Gateshead took him to 18 for the season.
Striker: Scott Rendell (Aldershot)
An assist and a goal in front of the club’s travelling fans and live on BT Sport at Dagenham capped a pretty good day for the forward.
Substitutes:
Dean Brill (Leyton Orient)
Ritchie Sutton (Tranmere Rovers)
Dean Rance (Ebbsfleet United)
Elliott Romain (Torquay United)
Morgan Ferrier (Boreham Wood)
