A number of seeds fell and there were some unwanted seasonal surprises. It’s not just the FA Cup that knows how to deliver upsets it seems.
We’ve been busy talking to our men and women on the ground to help put together a select side which starred on Saturday.
We’ve combined the players from all three leagues after headlines were made, and banana skins were avoided.
Goalkeeper: James Belshaw (Harrogate)
What a display it was by the keeper and all his team-mates at the Racecourse Ground as National League title hopefuls Wrexham were sent flying.
Defender: Ellis Miles (Brackley)
Braintree score plenty of goals and defender Miles was fantastic as he kept the Iron's forward threat quiet at Cressing Road.
Defender: Dan Cowan (Stockport County)
You need your experienced players to perform when faced with a tricky away tie and Cowan led by example as County didn’t come unstuck at Lancaster.
Defender: Roger Johnson (Bromley)
The veteran defender has played at the highest level but didn’t have any airs and graces down at Hartley Wintney as Bromley were professional.
Defender: Ryan Sammons (East Thurrock)
The result of the weekend was East Thurrock’s 4-0 thrashing of Aldershot - Sammons was incredible, as were all the Rocks players.
Midfield: Emmanuel Sonupe (Kidderminster)
Harriers sent the holders York City packing and Emmanuel Sonupe played a huge part in that. A goal and a great performance.
Midfield: Reece Prestedge (Maidstone United)
The Stones rolled over Torquay 4-0 away from home and were fantastic. Prestedge the best of a great punch down in Devon.
Midfield: Harold Otamendi (Maidenhead)
The Magpies may fancy their chances now with so many National League clubs already sent packing. Otamendi was outstanding as three-time winners Woking joined that list.
Midfield: Ben Swallow (Bognor)
Two goals, man of the match and a well deserved evening of celebration. Bognor ease through at tricky Taunton.
Striker: Mark Beck (Harrogate)
Showed his quality with a well-taken brace at Wrexham as National League North Harrogate created one of the headlines of the weekend.
Striker: Tom Richardson (East Thurrock)
A hat-trick against Aldershot? Well the striker couldn’t have dreamed a better conclusion. Will be a marked man from now on!
Substitutes:
Jimmy Dunne (Barrow)
Josh Coulson (Leyton Orient)
Fraser Horsfall (Kidderminster)
Mitch Brundle (Dover)
Myles Weston (Ebbsfleet)
