Incredible strikes from Welling United’s Jack Jebb and talented Abo Eisa, the Wealdstone winger, lit up the league on Saturday.
As did St Albans City - putting seven goals past East Thurrock United with Sam Merson helping himself to no fewer than four goals!
But who has made the Team of the Weekend? Well we’re now revealing all!
We’ve been in touch with club officials and managers to put together our select side. Here’s what we came up with.
National League South Team of the Weekend:
Goalkeeper: Manny Agboola (Hampton & RB)
Heroic for Hampton at Chelmsford - he hasn’t played much for the Beavers but showed he can be relied upon.
Defender: Diak John (Hungerford Town)
The full-back had another excellent game, even if the in-form Crusaders did drop points at home to struggling Bognor Regis.
Defender: Jamie Whisken (Poole)
This result could turn the Dolphins season around. Nobody gave them a prayer at joint second placed Hemel but Whisken and Poole performed brilliantly.
Defender: Anthony Acheampong (Welling United)
A goal and a clean sheet against title-chasing Braintree means the defender can’t be overlooked for our Team of the Weekend.
Defender: Ronnie Vint (Dartford)
Found the net and performed well as much improved Whitehawk left Princes Park homeless.
Midfielder: David Noble (St Albans)
Many Saints players could have made the cut but Noble couldn’t be left out as Ian Allinson’s side scored seven goals against East Thurrock United.
Midfielder: Max Kretzschmar (Hampton & RB)
The Beavers’ free-scoring midfielder was on the mark again on Saturday as he put Hampton on their way against Chelmsford City.
Midfielder: Ben Greenhalgh (Concord Rangers)
Rangers need goals from all over the pitch and Greenhalgh was at the double to keep Eastbourne Borough looking over their shoulders.
Midfielder: Abo Eisa (Wealdstone)
A wonder goal from a player Bobby Wilkinson rates very highly on Saturday saw the Stones close the gap on the top seven.
Striker: Andy Pugh (Dartford)
It was Andy Pugh’s turn to grab the goalscoring limelight for Dartford this weekend, not Alfie Pavey. His two goals killed off brave Whitehawk.
Striker: Sam Merson (St Albans)
He’s never had a day like it! Merson was a clinical as his dad used to be as he notched four goals as St Albans ripped East Thurrock apart.
Substitutes:
Jack Parkinson (Welling United)
Anthony Church (Chelmsford)
Iffy Allen (Wealdstone)
Ross Stearn (Bath City)
Solomon Sambou (St Albans)
