There was plenty of important of results in the Vanarama National League North, but which players really stood out?

Salford City were crowned champions, while Tamworth and Gainsborough Trinity were both relegated from the National League North, writes Tom Feaheny.

As we do every week, we get on the phone to club officials, reporters and managers to gage their views on the weekend’s best - and build a squad of 16.

Here is what we’ve come up with following Saturday’s National League North games.

Goalkeeper: Tony Breeden (Leamington)
While this time he wasn't scoring the goals, he made some important saves as Leamington drew at York City and confirmed they are staying up.

Defence: Jamie Stott (Stockport County)
A clean sheet and Stott played his part in County winning.

Defence: Jordan Keane (Boston United)
They defeated the new champions at Salford City, with Keane playing a big part in the victory.

Defence: Lee Vaughan (Kidderminster Harriers)
Strong in defence while also helping the Harriers push forward saw Vaughan stand out.

Midfield: Joe Guest (Curzon Ashton)
A goal for Guest who didn't put a foot wrong for the Nash.

Midfield: Jake Dunwoody (Curzon Ashton)
The on-loan Stoke midfielder once again impressed for Curzon Ashton.

Midfield: Tom Platt (Alfreton Town)
The all important winner was scored by Platt, who again controlled the tempo of the game.

Midfield: Shane Byrne (Brackley Town)
In a tough game, Byrne was the one who made a big difference as Brackley confirmed third place.

Striker: James Ball (Stockport County)
James certainly was on the ball, with the match winner at Blyth Spartans.

Striker: Marcus Dinanga (AFC Telford United)
Two goals from the loanee helped United stay up.

Striker: Adam Boyes (Bradford Park Avenue)
Work rate and goals means Boyes is in the team again, his strike helped Avenue move into the play-off places.

Substitutes:

George Willis (Boston United)
Frank Mulhern (Bradford Park Avenue)
James McQuilkin (Kidderminster Harriers)
Joe Wheatley (Darlington)
Sean Newton (York City)
