Tamplin Says Blues New Boss Is Now Only Days Away

Billericay Town owner Glenn Tamplin says an agreement to bring a new manager in is “99 per cent done”.

Town have been without a boss since Tamplin sacked Harry Wheeler after just one defeat last month.

He later held his hands up to “a huge mistake” and attempted to get Wheeler to return to the National League South club.

But he said no and days later was confirmed as Maidstone United’s new manager.

Tamplin has been working hard to secure a new manager, and has since been in the dug out himself taking charge of the team.

But today he confirmed Billericay could be ready to announce their new boss by Wednesday.

The Blues were undone by a last minute Dartford goal on Saturday as they missed the chance to up the heat on leaders Woking.

He tweeted this afternoon: “Deal 99% done with new management/coaching team, hoping to announce within next 48rs”.

Tamplin put the club up for sale four weeks into the new season and has set a deadline of next week for backers to come forward.

He said last week that he is now likely to remain with no investors who match his ambition of taking the club into the EFL yet to talk to him.
