Symons Blow For Beadle As Striker Sits Out Season's Start

Hereford have been handed some bad news just over a week before the start of the new season - and Peter Beadle says it’s the club’s hardest summer ever.

Mike Symons will miss the first two months of the new campaign with a fracture to his fibula.

Bulls manager Beadle last night announced the striker is out for around ten weeks.

On Tuesday it was confirmed that captain Jimmy Oates has done enough to earn a deal at League Two side Exeter City following a three-week trial.

“It’s a bit of a sucker punch for us with Mike really,” the manager said on the club’s YouTube platform.

“It’s been our toughest pre-season so far with the comings and goings. We have lost players to other clubs, and also lost players to injury.

“Mike will be out for ten weeks. It’s been a very difficult summer but the positive is that we can get all this bad news out of the way now and let the good news come once the season starts!”

Hereford lost 3-1 to Forest Green Rovers on Wednesday night but the manager wasn’t down about the result.

“I thought the lads acquitted themselves superbly and it bodes well for the 4th of August,” he added.

“It’s all about that first game against Blyth and we can’t wait for it to come around.”
