The two promotion contenders do battle in a mouthwatering game that will be broadcast live on BT Sport on Saturday lunchtime (12.30pm kick-off).
Sutton could potentially climb back up to second with victory at Gander Green Lane whilst three points for Dagenham would most likely push them into the top seven.
The U’s won the reverse fixture at Victoria Road back in September thanks to a late Kenny Davis goal and Wright says his side are confident of another big win.
“To do the double over any team in this league is an achievement but to do it over Dagenham, who are such a big club, would be amazing for the club and the team,” the young striker said. “Being live on TV will just make it even better if we can do it.
“Dagenham are a good side and have some strong players however we will prepare for the game the same way we would any other and go into it full of confidence that we can get the three points.”
It’s been a remarkable campaign so far for both Sutton and 21-year-old Wright.
Given a first-team shot by manager Paul Doswell after scoring over 50 times for Salisbury at Step 4 last term, Wright has rewarded him with 15 goals this season including nine in the National League.
Whilst his own personal achievements have been somewhat unexpected, Sutton’s fantastic season hasn’t.
“We do have some great players so I’m not surprised that we are in the position we are in,” Wright added.
“We also have a great team spirit including the manager and staff. We all have confidence we can stay in and around the top of the table.
“I will admit I never thought I would have got 15 at this stage of the season. I am pleased with it though and I am hoping to get more during the rest of the season.
“Being part of a great group of players who, as a team, are pushing for promotion is always amazing and to be scoring goals just makes it even better.”
