The U’s won 3-2 at Hartlepool having trailed 2-1 in the second half.
They came back to take all three points thanks to Craig Eastmond’s winner ten minutes from time.
Manager Doswell thinks his team are showing they are yet again in the right place to challenge for promotion.
“It’s credit to the character of the players to come and win this,” Doswell told the Northern Echo.
“From leading, to five minutes into the second half be trailing and then turn it around again is very pleasing.
“We maybe surprised people to come back and win this game. But I said to the players afterwards that this showed how close as a group they are.
“To come back with two very good goals, two good finishes showed what we are about.”
