Last weekend his team were undone at home to FC Halifax as their play-off hopes were surprisingly hit.
That put an end to a stunning winning run but the National League’s form side showed they have mental strength.
Their 3-2 win at Chesterfield saw them twice come from behind as Joey Jones rattled in a fantastic winner.
“We deserved that,” beamed the manager after their sixth win from seven National League matches.
“I thought the players were superb and after twice going behind they showed fantastic character.
“It was a great game and we played our part. We don't know when we're beaten it seems.
“We needed to respond after last week’s disappointment and we certainly did that.
“We’ve shown what we’re made of against a side who are getting better and better under their new manager.”
