Harrogate Town are no different - and super fan Steve Pattison is one of those supporters every club needs.
Not only has he made much-needed money for their Community Foundation, he then volunteered to become a run leader - giving his all to the special ‘Town to 5K’ group.
After their 12 week programme that Steve threw himself into, members participated in their first ever Park Run.
Not only that, but the Harrogate helper works with the club’s Player Development Centre, encouraging parents to be active while their children are playing the sport as much as possible.
We asked the club - and Steve has impacted on a lot of people’s lives.
“He helps reduce social isolation, improving physical and mental wellbeing and giving people a purpose and weekly routine,” Harrogate explained.
It sounds like we certainly found a worthy winner of the Vanarama Volunteer of the Month Award!
