Super 16! It's All Change At Alfreton This Summer

Alfreton manager John McDermott may have now signed 16 new players since taking charge but he thinks they can gel quickly.

The Reds, who secured new investment this summer, says their squad is now complete.

That came after they secured the services of experienced goalkeeper Chris Elliott from Vanarama National League North rivals Harrogate Town.

It’s all change at Alfreton and the new boss is pleased with his business.

“I know Chris well from my time at Harrogate; he came in then as a number two and pushed himself for the number one spot which he took,” McDermott said.

“He’s a very experienced lad, very agile, excellent fitness and a great natural shot-stopper. He likes to dominate his box, his distribution is excellent and his kicking has really impressed me.

“We now have two keepers with Mason signing a few weeks back; we have competition all over the park now, excellent depth. Chris has great self-belief, if he makes a mistake he’ll forget about it very quickly.

"I’m delighted, we look very strong”.
