Struggling Cards Just Not Up To Scratch - Limbrick

By Steven Coney

Anthony Limbrick says his struggling Woking side have become their own worst enemies after their winless run was extended to seven games.

The Cards were well beaten 3-0 at Leyton Orient on Saturday, their third National League defeat in four matches.

Their recent poor run has seen them fall to 18th in the table and they are now just four points above the relegation zone.

Limbrick’s men host Macclesfield this Friday before a massive game at Torquay United and the boss knows they need to get some points on the board quickly.

“We hit the bar early on and if that goes in it could be a different game,” Limbrick told the club’s Audiboom channel after their Brisbane Road defeat.

“I’m really disappointed with how we conceded the two goals. Our game-plan was to keep it tight and not give them anything in the first half.

“They hadn’t won at home since December and we’ve handed them two goals. It’s not good enough from us and we’re getting dragged towards the bottom because of the mistakes we’re making.

“We can talk tactics and formations all we like but it’s not good enough what we’re producing at the moment - nowhere near. We are in a relegation battle and we need to pick up as many points as possible in the next two games.”
